How to Write a Resume From Rough Notes (No Formatting Needed)

Most people think they need to write 'professionally' before starting a resume. They don't. The raw information is already in your head — job titles, companies you worked at, things you actually did, projects you completed, your college name. That is all you need.

Example 1: 'Zepto delivery ops, 2023–present, managed ~20 delivery partners daily, reduced late delivery by around 15%, created a basic Excel tracker for shift planning.' That three-part note produces two strong ATS bullet points and a metric.

Example 2: 'Final year project — built a movie recommender using Python and cosine similarity, got 89% accuracy, presented at college fest.' That single sentence becomes a complete project entry with tools, outcome, and context.

Example 3: 'Taught English at a private institute for 3 years, handled batches of 30+ students, improved average pass rate from 65% to 82%.' That becomes a compelling non-technical experience entry that demonstrates communication and results.

Most people who format their own resumes make the same mistakes: multi-column layouts, tables, textboxes in PDF, header/footer sections that ATS parsers cannot read.
